Lessons Learned

To deal with the psychological aspects of being a CEO, Ben suggests three things. First, make some friends who have been in similar situations and can share their experiences. Second, write down your thoughts on to paper so you can take a step back and break down the problem logically. Third is to focus on where the company is going in the long term and not to worry about potential scenarios you want to avoid. Most importantly, do not quit.

If you are CEO, you need to master the art of giving feedback.

In Ben's experience, to be a long term CEO of your company you need leadership skills and a deep desire to build something great.

A leader needs three attributes: ability to articulate a vision, the right kind of ambition, and the ability to achieve the vision.

Business is more like chess than checkers. There will always be a move, even if you think there is none.
