Balaji S. Srinivasan attended Stanford where he was awarded a BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Bioinformatics. He has taught statistics, data mining, and computational biology at Stanford University. This entrepreneur began his company Counsyl from his Stanford dorm room when he was a student.
The company Counsyl is a genomics group. Their test is now performed on 4% on all births in the United States. In 2012, he stepped down from his executive role with Counsyl to work on other interests. He currently helps run the Stanford Bitcoin group along with Vijay Pande.
He has been awarded with the Wall Street Journal Innovation Award for Medicine and the Scientific American’s Top 10 World Changing Ideas. He has spoken at such events as the Lean Startup Conference and TechCrunch Disrupt SF. He serves on the Omada Health Advisory Board.

Lessons Learned
I like to solve puzzles and find that this curiosity is something that has served me well. I like to think that I am laser focused and this is quality that many entrepreneurs have. My sense of curiosity has helped me with my exploration into mobile money. I would say this translates into an important lesson. Always look ahead, explore, and search for innovative concepts. I think bitocin is just the tip of what can be explored with mobile money.
